Year of Wonder by Geraldine Brooks.
Aside from the interesting thing connecting the village at the center of this story to AIDs, the nut of which i heard about in the middle of reading this, it's a well-written bit, except for the end, which smacks of a miniseries ending or something.
Right now it's after eleven and the Otherh is trying to get another laptop up and running on the wireless. I'm considering throwing my right-now useless Ipod out the window, and I'm thinking that I only have two errands tomorrow.
